INALCO, L’Orientale, Fondation INALCO and ISMEO are delighted to launch the first Summer School on the Cultures of Afghanistan, which will take place in Castello ducale, Piazza Castello 2, 81037 Sessa Aurunca CE, Italy, on 8-12 July 2024.
It will consist of seven modules, taught by specialists in the field:
Archaeology, Art History, and Cultural Heritage – Ancient History – Medieval and Modern History – Literature – Languages, Linguistics, and Orality – History, Political Geography, and Society – Arts, Music, and Performance.
The Summer School is open to MA and doctoral level students, and there are no specific prerequisites, only some familiarity with basic historical, linguistic and archaeological terminology connected to Afghan cultures will be assumed.
All participants must make their own travel expenses to Sessa Aurunca. Hospitality (including accommodation, two coffee breaks and a light lunch per day) will be paid for by the organization.
We have some single rooms and further accomodations free of charge. The deadline for applications is 10 May 2024. The first twelve students who apply will be admitted.
